Comix Con 2026
We can’t wait for you to join us at this year’s Somerville Public Library Comix Con! Below is everything we’re able to share with you so far, but check back closer to July for an update on more of the activities, artists, performers, and other fun we have planned for this year’s con!
What Can I Do at Comix Con?
- Artists Alley [ALL DAY, INSIDE]
- Plenty of local artists are attending comix con this year!
- Button Making [ALL DAY, INSIDE]
- We’ll have the button maker out with plenty more fandom-related designs for you to make your own button!
- ComixMan Maze [10:00 – 11:00 AM, OUTSIDE]
- Challenge your problem solving skills with this retro-videogame inspired maze! Dodge ghosts and try to find the exit… if you dare.
- Crafts [ALL DAY, INSIDE]
- Take some time out to make some crafts at this year’s Con that you can bring home as keepsakes. From video game perler beads, to marble magnets, to DIY puzzles, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! (Crafts may vary in age suitability.)
- D&D: The Lost Gem [2:30 – 4:00 PM, INSIDE]
- D&D: The Lost Gem is an interactive 90-minute experience that combines live-play fantasy gaming with a live magic performance. Audience members can participate by playing characters, rolling dice, or contributing ideas as a wizard’s quest unfolds with multiple possible outcomes.
- Dungeon Master Coaching [12:00 – 1:00 PM, INSIDE]
- Being a Dungeon Master can feel like a daunting task. There is so much to track, plan and schedule.
Let us help you by breaking down the basic steps of how to get started and become a world-class Dungeon Master that will keep your players coming back for years. With over 1,000 games of D&D and other RPGs under our belts, we have the tools to help you become a legend.

- Face Painting with Arty Mari [11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, 1:30 – 3:30 PM, INSIDE]
- Stop by our face painting room to get decked out with some fun, decorative paint by local artist Mari. All ages welcome.
- The Haunted Bard [12:00 – 1:00 PM, INSIDE]
- The Haunted Bard is a folk singer who brings to life the ethereal and mystical elements of ancient tales and folklore. Known for her captivating voice with minimalistic yet atmospheric arrangements, The Haunted Bard transports listeners to forgotten realms, weaving stories of love, loss, and the supernatural. Each song feels like a portal to another time, exploring rich narratives that resonate with melancholy and enchantment.
- LARPing [11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, OUTSIDE]
- Try Live-Action Roleplay with LARP Adventure Program! Create a fantasy character, learn to sword fight, and play LARP games.
- Lightsaber Training [1:00 – 2:00 PM, OUTSIDE]
- Start your Jedi training today! Learn the basics of using the Force and how to handle a lightsaber from a true Jedi Master.
- Mrs. Incredible Storytime [10:30 – 11:30 AM, INSIDE]
- Calling all Superheroes. Come see Mrs. Incredible as she entertains with stories, songs and games with a Superhero twist. For children of all ages. Costumes are optional!
- Painting D&D Miniatures [10:30 – 11:30 AM, INSIDE]
- Paint a miniature version of a Dungeons and Dragons character! For this drop-in program, the library will provide DnD minis, paint, and brushes for you to bring your character to life. One miniature per participant while supplies last. All ages (under 8 with a grownup, please).
- Photo Booth [ALL DAY, INSIDE]
- Take pics of your Comix Con fit in our photo booth with custom Game On! background.
- Pokemon Scavenger Hunt [ALL DAY, INSIDE]
- Pokémon are battling all over the Library, can you find them all? Search throughout the Library during our annual ComixCon Scavenger Hunt and see where all the Pokémon are hiding this year. All ages welcome to test there skills at finding Pokémon but if you can handle the challenge take the Master Quest and put your Pokémon knowledge to the test.
- Raffle Prizes [All Day, INSIDE]
- Get raffle tickets as you attend activities, and submit them for one or more of our several raffles.
- Speed Puzzling Competition [3:00 – 4:00 PM, INSIDE]
- Are you as fast as the Flash? Compete against other puzzling teams to see who can complete their puzzle the fastest! Up to 6 people per team (max 4 teams). If you just want to join in as an individual, we will place you with a welcoming group of puzzlers. All ages (under 8 with a grownup, please).
- Super Smash Bros Tournament [11:30 AM – 12:30 PM, 2:30 – 3:30 PM, INSIDE]
- Can you crush the competition in this fast paced, knockout style Super Smash Bros tournament? Will you be the last one standing? Two separate tournaments will take place during the day.
- Gaming Trivia Challenge [1:30 – 2:30 PM, INSIDE]
- Become a Trivia Master when you play our game all about games! We’ll test your knowledge of board games, video games, RPGs and more in the ultimate challenge. Open to all ages, teams across generations are encouraged!
What about Artist’s Alley?
We will have an “alley” of local artists, craftspeople, and more selling their wares on the third floor mezzanine. Here’s who you might hope to find there:
