Looking for some new toys? Check something out from the Library! We’ve got you covered with fun games like...
Feed the Monkey: work on that pincer grip and feel like you’re accomplishing something.
Easy-Twist Animal Builders: fine motor skills, matching, and crazy animals.
And a personal favorite, Don’t Let the Bugs Fall: it’s like Jenga with dice. (You can see SPL librarians playing this game at the Somerville Media Center!)
Available at all three locations, our circulating toy collection will meet your needs -- and meet needs you didn’t know you had. For example...
• Can’t get your kids to the playground in the snow? Try the Side to Side Balance Board for gross motor activity!
• Don’t want a loud toy in your house permanently? We understand. Check out our Xylophone, and then bring it back!
• Baby’s turning one? You need Baby’s First Birthday Band -- but you’ll never need it again, so you can return it after the party!
• Going on a car ride? Keep both kids busy in the backseat with the Race to the Finish Magnetic Maze.
• A budding actress in your house? Endless puppet shows with our Storytelling Puppet Sets: Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Go Away Big Green Monster, Fairytale Puppets, and the Three Little Pigs.
• Here in town for a short time period? Someone with kids visiting? Leave your toys at home, and check out a rotating selection for your kiddo while you visit with grandparents or friends, or complete a semester at an academic program.
Toys are just part of what the Somerville Public Library has to offer. We hope you’ll find out what else we have in our collection!
