How To Prepare for the Interview

In-Person Classes

To help you prepare for your interview, the Somerville Public Library in partnership with St. Mark Community Education Program offers free in-person citizenship preparation classes.  Classes are held at Central Library (79 Highland Avenue) on Saturdays for 10 weeks.  The next 10 week class cycle will begin in September 2024.

Virtual Tutoring

To help you prepare for your interview, the Somerville Public Library offers FREE Virtual Citizenship Tutoring. Tutoring usually takes 10-12 weeks and covers the Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Civics portions of the citizenship interview. We cannot help you fill out your N-400 application or answer any legal questions about your case, but we can refer you to local organizations who can help.
